Awards & Accolades

Susan Florio-Ruane, Professor of Teacher Education and Site Coordinator and Senior Researcher in the Center for Improvement of Early Reading Achievement (CIERA), was awarded the National Reading Conference Edward B. Fry Book Award for her recent book, Teacher Education and the Cultural Imagination: Autobiography,Conversation, and Narrative (Erlbaum, 2001). The award was presented at the annual meetings of the National Reading Conference in San Antonio on Friday, December 7, 2001.

Laura Roehler, Professor of Teacher Education and CIERA Principal Investigator, was awarded the International Reading Association's Outstanding Teacher Education in Reading Award. The award was presented at the IRA annual meeting.
